A Gravestone in The Old Norwichtown Cemetery older than the tree that now engulfs the stone. Graves dating back to the Revolutionary War many French troops under the leadership of General Rochambeau are buried there.
Yesterday we went to The Wadsworth Atheneum to see the Patti Smith Photographs and more of their great collection. Patti’s work was emotionally dark, many gravestones of famous writers and artists. There are also images of rooms and beds from The Chelsea Hotel where she shared a room/suite with Robert Mapplethorpe when they were “Just Kids” the title of her new book. Technically most of the images were made with a B+W Polaroid Land Camera and printed from the negative in limited editions. It is a visual history of the artist and the times. The show closes on Feb 19 so get over for a look at her work, collections of hers and two short films. The Wadsworth Atheneum is worth a visit anytime the museum has a vast collection with many alternating shows. See link above to see what is coming up at The Wadsworth. enjoy pjc
More Silver Gelatin More of Other Winters
Eleven Winters ago on a ride to Dick Davis’s house we came upon this structure. Pulled off in the snow and created the image in one or two frames. Most likely one but I could have been shivering. Most often my images are 1-3 three exposures. I usually know which I like but take a couple brackets. As I remember it was late day light and cold. enjoy pjc
From Washington to Ct.
My Granddaughter and me talking before I had to return east.
Six thirty AM and even the comfortable chairs at the Seattle’s Best Coffee shop were not full. I made full use of the chair directly across from this one to drink and sit for I knew this was the last comfortable chair of the day.
Fashion at 20,000 feet high. I watched and dozed surprising since I can’t sleep on a plane usually. But the time with my Daughter, Barry and my granddaughter was so wonderful filled me with subjects for my dreams. enjoy pjc
Photographic Art Looking back my daughter has filled me with joy for her whole life and continues to.
