Driving in my car, okay I pulled over for this image. In the 90’s I had a show in Willimantic called “Where Peter Lives.” That show had 13 images, two from Dance productions and eleven that turned out to be within 75 yards of my bedroom. When putting together a solo exhibition I take out lots of prints and put them out for a week or so so I can get a feel for subjects that work together. Divide/edit by space to hang and walla that’s what I show. Not so superstitious so 13 prints was not a problem. I in fact did not realize the proximity of my Willi images till I was done hanging the show. This could be from an up dated show The Norwich Years Where I Live. It is the light that makes an image and often I plan to travel to shoot somewhere. But as I look through my files I find I also rarely miss what is so close. The recent post 2012 Goes Out Over Ice is one step out the door of ArtSpace. Photo ventures are great for new inspiration but there are images right in front of you learn to see them. peace pjc

A lot is said through signs, not just flavors and sales. There is a personality a history to the signage. FSA photographer Walker Evans inspired my to see the personality, history of signage. My image here is from happier times then during Walkers FSA days, but I hope the emotion comes through. enjoy pjc
