Old wooden bridge from Galilee to Jerusalem RI. Digital image made on 10/11/12 Galilee has been a favorite place of mine since the 80’s. In the 90’s I met Arnold Prince a former Art Professor at RISD who took his class there in the eighties. Arnold and I both worked at RISD at the same time but never met till the first day he was painting a mural in Willimantic on Walnut St. We became fast great friends and would travel to RI once or twice a summer. He would sketch and I would shoot some color for him to paint from or as he put it your much easier to hall around than an easel and he could not talk to an easel. enjoy pjc
More Texture in Norwich
Digital image made yesterday. I have watched this barn shot it a couple but more of what I call look ats. I see look at the image then calculate when the best time and light I want the image to be then get there and shoot it perfectly as I saw the barn. But the dilemma still exists for I saw this as a B+W High Contrast image. I shot it in B+W with a red filter and later I’ll post that. I desaturated this also but I think I will post that side by side by the film shot. Hopefully you’ll be able to see the deference in the edge I have spoken of before.

The Lights are on but No One is Home Yet, Light of the Sun
Late day and the parking lights are on as the Norwichtown Mall restoration continues.
Strong late afternoon sun create this apparently warm light yesterday afternoon. I have a problem or a dilemma with posting this tree you see what I saw was a B+W photo with a red filter to create a high contrast image. But the B+W I shoot is film so I am drawn to wanting this the way I saw the original image. I could but won’t convert it in PS. No matter what I do in PS the image never has the edge of a B+W neg/print. Maybe it is me but there is a whole different emotion produced by film the tactile feel of it the lingering study of the subject. The feeling of a book as opposed to a kindle. To me digital is a destination without a journey and the road of life is a journey of places in the soul, places that move you. A visual poem part of the journey, part of the story as you look at images of my journey you add your life’s story to fit my image in your response becoming part of my journey. enjoy pjc
Photographic Art
Earlier effort at conversion, I thought sometime recently I posted a side by side of color and desaturated to B+W but can’t find it now.
