A lot is said through signs, not just flavors and sales. There is a personality a history to the signage. FSA photographer Walker Evans inspired my to see the personality, history of signage. My image here is from happier times then during Walkers FSA days, but I hope the emotion comes through. enjoy pjc

Yes even though your home may be several miles away, it still feels like your home just walking by, much less visiting. That\’s how I feel when I\’m downtown in my town walking by the Powers Hamburger stand, or the Coney Island shop. gives a warmth that\’s comfortable in any weather. An old friend sayin\’ Hey!

Nice photo. Remember the old malt shops? I miss them. Also the soda fountains that use to be in many drug stores. To get a hand mixed Cherry Coke or a Lime rickie!

Steve and David signs open the first page of a story. Memories of the viewers fill in the chapters. I do miss soda fountains, I did not go into the Drawbridge that day but I think they have a marble top soda fountain with 40\’s era metal round back chairs. Didn\’t go in for I arrived in Mystic ten minutes after my bank closed. I will be back soon with money in my pocket for some sherbert and to shoot some interiors.
