Nine crosses next to Lebanon Country Store
For the few years I have been traveling Rt. 87 on the way to Vt. and lately to Manchester Ct. to visit an old friend during the last 9 months my ride to Manchester has taken longer as I stop and ponder the Lebanon Green. It was on one of these journeys to Brattleboro that the verbal image “Between Here and There” began. Now it is a nearly complete poem reflecting a life time of changes, a tree with many branches all with tales to tell. Many past thoughts reviewed in the present from childhood on a bike to the present in an old Honda. The town Green this one in Lebanon has taken me back and forward in time. Once where the farmers grazed their cows to a walk around the green that is rarely empty. “Between Here and There” were fireworks, chicken barbecues, concerts and ice skating. “Community” so I stop and smell the roses, the seasons of life I’ll share images from Lebanon for the next week or so and Friday my show “Between Here and There” opens and perhaps I’ll read my verbal image. enjoy pjc

As always, your photographs and prose paint life so well, I imagine myself passing by these places, and see flash-backs as if I lived there long ago too…
Thanks for sharing

I find that the older I get I relate more to my childhood in my perception of the world that I live in. It seems to be a sort of dejavue (sp??) as i am tending to go out as I came in. Hope that makes sense, just strange, maybe part of the natural order of things??
