Hi Peter, this picture is a mystery. The table and the things on it look abandoned and at the same the place lives, it is as if we are going to sit down at that table with you. Where is the coffee? And you must have had two cameras. And there are two journals, and oh, you are wearing glasses, and the pens, are they feltpens or inkpens..
great shot:) love Andrea

The tall black cylinder in the center is a coffee travel mug, I almost always have 2 camera’s one color, one B+W. the journal on the left is for writing verbal images, the one on the left is outlines of projects. The pens are two kinds of ink pens in two colors Red for recording color images and black for black and White images. Two more reporters notebooks reside in a pocket one a daily [my mind] plan one a shot film log. Diane Arbus a favorite photographer of mine once said ” A photograph is a secret about a secret the more it tells you the less you know.” enjoy pjc

Peter, I thought the tall black cylinder was a camera objective, a zoom:) So you have lots of notebooks, I like that idea and would love to browse through these notebooks (well I wouldn’t cause I know this can be pretty private!). So you do have a daily plan…? But I wonder what a shot film log is? I guess Diane Arbus is right, your picture is a secret about a secret: YOU love Andrea

La journée de Miss Doodle Yes the tall black cylinder does look like a lens case. I am sure that it is supposed to since it is made by Nikon, a gift for judging a local photography contest and an excellent travel cup. Notebooks everywhere my life in pen and ink scribbles, a weekly plan, project outlines, model lists, etc. The film shot log is for noting each image I take place date exposure. this makes it easier to remember for dating prints, and tracking what is wrong with an image on the rare occasion [lol] I am unhappy with the technical quality. As the eyes get older this is a more helpful tool. To browse through my note books would be boring except for the journal with the glasses on top. This is where my poetic commentary on life comes out. I call my writing Verbal Images and am in the process of trying to get a second book published. One with Verbal Images and Visual Words. Some are shared here. I will put more up sometimes the words and images are directly tied other times a mystery of ambiguity like the one here which you have read and translated what the image says very well. enjoy pjc

Peter, thanks for giving me a glimpse into the photographer’s univers! Now that is why the coffeetravelcup looks like a Zoom and now I know what a film shot log is! I guess it took a lot of passion and patience and trial and error to become the photographer you are today. Thanks for sharing you insights and poetry too!
