Last week I came across this display at a chain bookstore, I suppose you could call it “Found Art”
a popular genre in the world of everyone is an artist. I just call it “Worship.” I suppose you could call most photography found art from the spectacular landscapes to the highly manipulated conceptual that you and artificial intelligence collaborated on to create with your prosumer latest upgrade. I being a dinosaur prefer to think of it as seeing what is right in front of me and visually commenting.
Yesterday I had lunch at Dalton’s Pub while waiting for a print at RJ Phil’s Custom Lab in East Hampton and the owner was an old friend from the 80’s. So I am not straying to far off track. The food was great and the memories warm and fun. More from Dalton’s the 80’s and The Nutshell later. enjoy pjc

“Worship”… What a great cultural commentary!
Mike from Maine says
A wonderful juxtaposition is seen in “worship.” The antithesis of the Life of Christ is society’s malignant narcissism. It’s really quite nauseating. This hedonistic society is replete with a generation of “Look At Me” thinkers whose life verse is merely a few jumbled letters: WIIFM. What’s In It For Me? Let’s just hope that the next criminal, er, I mean candidate, that gets elected as President this year will be able to turn our country around and do something to restore our once-stellar reputation around the world as a nation that cared and not what it has become now; a nation scorned by the masses around the world and viewed as just another bully in the neighborhood, trying to impose it’s will on everyone. What this has to do with the “Worship” photo, I have no idea, but the thoughts came and so I wrote them. ๐
The photo is a great testament to our fall as a country and, as sukumar said, it’s a great cultural commentary!!
Good day.
