I’ve always thought of you as a mentor Peter, it’s a shame we can’t get together in the flesh. There is so much I could learn from you. Are you still seeking grants to ride the Amtrak down south? Reconnecting after all this time (re:after Nikonians) has once again given me reason to pause, reflect, think more on a conscious level how to capture images on my subconscious level. How I wish I had the apparent confidence your images exude. I have ideas, always ideas, but in the end shy away from them because I’m overwhelmed at the prospect of having to confront people, point a camera at someone, ask permission to take their picture. I guess that is normal, when starting out in makeshift portraiture? It’s hard, breaking loose from the rut of indecision and shyness. I’ve always greatly admired photojournalists and I’d love nothing more than to tell a story with my images.
