Rust to Dust
Rust to dust Jeff told me
an old auto sits at the base of a knoll
sprinkled with light through the trees
trees that were not there
when last she was parked
Rust to dust, clear sky
light over the hill but
she’ll sit there still
in this Warholian world
her fifteen minutes are past
rust to dust

My friend Jeff T. Bishop sent me this image that inspired the poem. Enjoy life fifteen minutes isn’t much time when seven and one half minutes are commercials. Comments welcome. enjoy pjc

reminds me of the old car my grandpa used to drive…abandoned on the homestead in ct., deep in the woods, i came across it one day and it made me cry…now, i’d like to go back and shoot it myself…
